Quality of Teaching
Outstanding teaching at Taylor Road School
The quality of teaching at Taylor Road School is monitored by the headteacher, the deputy headteacher and other senior leaders every term.
This means that the senior leaders sit in the teachers’ lessons and judge the quality of their teaching.
Teaching can be given one of four grades –‘outstanding’, ‘good’ ‘requires improvement’ or ‘inadequate.’
There are 25 teachers at Taylor Road School.
In the autumn term, 2014 76% of the teachers (19 teachers) were judged to be ‘outstanding’ and the other six were judged as ‘good.’
In the spring term, 2015, the quality of teaching has been even better, with 84% of teaching judged as ‘outstanding’ and 16% judged as ‘good.’
Outstanding teaching produces outstanding learning by the children. Because we have so much ‘outstanding’ and ‘good’ teaching at Taylor Road School out children are very successful year after year.
