1st September 2020
Dear Parent/ Carer,
This is quite a different start to the school year as not all of the children are back in school yet due to us staggering your children coming in.
The first morning was always going to be difficult did not go as smoothly as we had anticipated this was owing to a number of parents arriving at the wrong time, expecting to be allowed on the school site, not letting their child know which class they were in and not bringing the right equipment ie packed lunch. It took longer for staff to get pupils in due to the number of questions from parents; questions that, in the majority had been answered in the various publications to you.
However, I do want to take this opportunity to thank all those parents who read their texts, letters and the school website informing of the staggered entry into school and which days each year group is returning. This has been doing to stagger the number of people dropping off at any one time, to support social distancing and also to ensure that staff are able to take pupils straight into school.
As you know from the letters, emails and texts previously, we are not allowing non-essential visitors onsite and also not allowing pupils to go home for dinner. These measures are to keep your children and our staff safe as well as following Government recommendations.
Tomorrow, knowing that all the children know the classes and the teacher they are with, all children will be expected to make their way straight into school. This will mean that, by Thursday when our KS1 children are coming into school, they will be able to come straight in through the main entrance and meet their class teachers from there. If your child is in Year 1 or 2 please prepare them by letting them know the name of their class teacher.
As already shared previously, there will be no home dinners and children are expected to bring their packed lunch with them in the morning, if you are providing them. If the packed lunch is purchased through the School Gateway app, then your child’s packed lunches will be delivered straight to their classroom.
Thank you so much for sending your child into school in uniform; the children look so smart and full of pride for their school; it was a lovely sight to see this morning.
Finally, as the days go on we will review our processes and procedures on a daily basis, in the first instance. We will inform you of any changes through text and email followed by putting information on the school website. Please keep up to date with this form of communication and make sure that the school office has your up to date information so we can contact you.
If you have any further questions please call the school office or email on, email@example.com
Stay safe and we look forward to settling the children back into the school life and enjoying growing and learning together.
