Year 3/4 DG Football Tournament at Shenton

On Wednesday 5th June, we took 10 children to Shenton Primary School to take part in a annual Football Tournament.

As the children arrived to school, they were so excited with big smiles on their faces in anticipation on what was to come.

When we arrived, you could see the children eager to get going and get warmed up.

Mr Ruparelia had a quick tactical meeting with the players to confirm which positions they would be playing in.

Mr Ruparelia was so impressed with their listening, and following instructions first time.

The standard of football was fantastic, children not afraid to put in the tackles, playing with freedom and desire with a clear commitment to win and do their best.

We are extremely proud of the children who represented Taylor Road and Mr Ruparelia is fully aware that there is so much more to come in the future.

Congratulations to Sparkenhoe Primary School who were the eventual winners, winning by just by a single goal to Taylor Road who came runners up.

Year 5 and 6 Football Friendly Match v Barley Croft

On Tuesday 4th June, Taylor Road Primary School were delighted to welcome Barley Croft Primary School for a Year 5 and 6 mixed Football Match.

We were greeted in reception by a student from Barley Croft saying to Mr Ruparelia, 'gee this school is awesome'.

All the children were extremely excited and could not wait for the game to start.

Taylor Road kicked off first and the game commenced it was end to end football with both sides giving their all.

Then we were welcomed by heavy rain, however this did not stop the children at all. They were loving the conditions.

Taylor led at the break 4-2.

At the start of the 2nd half, Barley Croft came out of the blocks much quicker, creating chance after chance and took one of them, making it 4-3.

Taylor Road hit back to make it 5-3!

Both schools kept creating chances and it was Barley croft who scored to make it 5-4.

Some lovely one touch passing from Taylor with the best move of the game made it, 6-4

However in the last 3mins of the game and pressure put on the Taylor defence, it was Barley Croft who scored 2 late goals and the game finished 6-6.

What an incredible game of football and credit to both sides for a lasting memory.

Congratulations to everyone involved!!!!
